I'm hooked on Bali's beaches. I've been there seven times and keep coming back. Every beach feels different, and I want to share my favorites. With cheap AirlineTickets, it’s easy to plan your own trip and see why Bali is so amazing.
Seminyak is a perfect mix of stylish beach clubs and natural ocean beauty. The golden sand and gentle waves make it perfect for swimming. During the day, you can relax at spots like Potato Head or Ku De Ta with a cocktail and ocean views. Evenings bring stunning sunsets. The waves are good for surfing, but if you don't surf, there's plenty of space for volleyball, walks, or sunbathing.
Nusa Dua: Where I Bring My Parents
Nusa Dua is where I take my family because it's stress free and safe. The clear turquoise water is calm thanks to protective reefs. The area is clean, with comfy loungers and helpful staff. It's perfect for my mom to relax and my nephew to play in shallow water. When you want a break, there’s good shopping and water sports nearby. It feels like everything is planned for a perfect family day.
Uluwatu: For When I'm Feeling Adventurous
Uluwatu beaches are a bit of an adventure, with cliffs to climb down, but totally worth it. Padang Padang is my favorite; it feels like a hidden movie set with a beautiful small beach. Bingin Beach is harder to reach, but surfers love it for its clear blue water, clean sand, and cliffside spots with fresh seafood that make you want to stay forever.
Sanur: My Peaceful Morning Ritual
While most chase sunsets, I’m hooked on Sanur’s sunrises. Watching the sky light up over calm, warm water feels magical and peaceful. The beach has a relaxed vibe that makes you slow down. Traditional boats line the shore, adding charm and showing it's a real community, not just a tourist spot. You can walk or cycle along the beachfront path, stopping at local warungs for authentic Indonesian food. It’s the perfect mix of comfort and local life.
Canggu: Where I Lost Track of Time
I planned to stay three days in Canggu but ended up staying three weeks. This place has a magnetic energy that pulls you in. Once a quiet fishing village, it’s now a hotspot for surfers, digital nomads, and anyone wanting a vacation vibe. Echo Beach is a surf spot with powerful waves and dramatic black volcanic sand. There are plenty of surf schools if you’re a beginner. But Canggu isn’t just about surfing, every sunset feels like a beach party with locals and visitors sharing cold beers, fresh grilled fish, and amazing sunsets. I’ve made some of my best friends just relaxing by the waves.
My Hard Earned Beach Tips
After making plenty of mistakes (and having some incredible discoveries because of them), here's what I wish someone had told me:
Getting Around: Rent a scooter if you're brave enough to handle Bali traffic; it gives you so much freedom to beach hop. If not, hire a driver for the day. Just make sure you agree on the price upfront because nobody likes awkward money conversations.
Sun Protection: The sun here is no joke. I learned this the hard way during my first trip when I looked like a lobster for three days. Bring good sunscreen (the reef safe kind; the coral needs our help), and seriously consider a rash guard if you're planning to spend hours in the water.
Best Times to Visit: Here's a pro tip: western beaches like Seminyak and Uluwatu are your sunset spots, while Sanur in the east is where you go for sunrise magic. Canggu is great anytime, which is probably why I end up spending so much time there.
Why I Keep Coming Back
Bali’s beaches are all different. One day I sip drinks, and the next I surf or explore secret spots. The people are kind, the food is great, and the island feels warm. For fun or rest, Bali has it all. Pack sunscreen and grab AirlineTickets; you’ll want to return before you leave.
